She's Here!!! (Better Late than never!)

Well, Caroline Elyse Saunders made her debut right on time, on December 20th, 2010, as scheduled, since we had a repeat c-section planned. After a very sleepless night on December 19th (a lot of tossing and turning for both Melissa and Jason), we made our way to Kennestone Hospital on the morning of the 20th. We checked in at 10 AM, and got everything going. My wonderful doctor, Dr. Bobby Tackitt, even showed up early and asked if we minded getting things started earlier than our scheduled time of noon. We of course said yes, since we could not wait to meet our lovely daughter. We made our way to the operating room, and after what seemed like forever (but really only 25 minutes or so), Caroline Elyse made her debut at 12:09 in the afternoon.  She was 7 lbs 9 ozs, and 19.5 inches long.

She has been a dream thus far and is very calm and for the most part a quiet baby. She is easy going and loves to be held, and we of course, love holding her! Her first visitor in the hospital was of course her big brother Cole, and after first having no interest in her at all, he has since been very loving, and sweet, always asking to see her hands and give her "baby fives" whenever he can, and giving her sweet kisses. Grandma DeDe, Ami Jen, Grandpa (Pops) Saunders, Grandma Saunders and Uncle Marshall were all on hand the day she was born as well. There is plenty more to say about her, but I well end this post by saying, welcome to the world baby girl, we can't imagine life without you now!
