This morning we were trying out "tummy time" which helps Cole to strengthen his head and neck muscles, and while he did a good job at it for a very short time... we couldn't help but take these pictures when he finished. He was done, for sure! Cole will get his first taste of the pool on Monday, when both families, the Matte's and the Saunders will be over at Grandma DeDe's to celebrate labor day. I am sure he won't really get to do much but stick his feet in, but at least he gets a taste of it!

Baby!
How Cute!Well, there isn't much to report in the Saunders household. We have been loving life as parents for these last 3 weeks, and we can't even imagine life without Cole here now! It seems like it has been a lot longer than 3 weeks, but it really has only been that long. We have been keeping ourselves busy, getting out of the house to see Grandma Dede and Ami Jen, as well as Grandma and Grandpa Saunders. We even got out to go bowling with Dede and Jen on Sunday, and Cole slept through the entire thing. He is so good all of the time, but especially when we are out of the house. He stays quiet until he absolutely needs something, and even then is very easy to calm down. We are getting enough sleep, amazingly, since Cole sleeps in 3 hour spurts, and we sleep when he sleeps, even if that means sleeping at odd hours during the day. We had our 2 week checkup (a little late, since he is now 3 weeks!) on Monday, and Cole is now 9 lbs 4 ozs, and his Dr. says he is right on schedule as far as his weight gain goes and he is now 21 1/2 inches, so he is growing quite a bit. Here are some more pictures from the last week. Not to exciting, but cute nonetheless!

Our Daily Adventures
Now that we have somewhat established ourselves into a routine, or have some sort of clue what we are doing, we will try to update this blog more often... as for what we have been up to since Cole came into our home, well, a little bit of everything. We have tried to get out of the house as often as possible, as not to drive ourselves crazy in the house, even though it is 80 - 90 degrees outside! Cole is a very easy going baby, and doesn't seem to mind traveling in the car, going out in public, or whatever else we seem to decide to do on a daily basis. We are going to try to get to SC in late September to see Kat and Brent, as well as a possible trip to Hilton Head Island, so Cole can get his first view of the beach before Jason and I have to get back to work in October. Here are some of the pictures we have managed to take of Cole in the last few days and weeks, enjoy!

Our brand new family!
Well, if you have made it to this page, you most surely already know that the Saunders family has grown in the past couple of weeks, with the addition of our brand new baby boy, Cole Riley! We welcomed Cole into this world last Wednesday, August 6th at 10:58 PM, weighing in at 8 lbs 7 ozs and 19.5 inches. We are so in love with him and couldn't be more proud to be his parents! So here is what you came looking for..... PICTURES!
